Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family and the benefits of community service. He was the youngest son from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who raised him on their farm in Eufala. The second football was that his father was the only of three brothers to play for Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's top lineman. The three years he was a starter Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him an Scholar-Athlete for the 3rd time in 1975. Selmon obtained a degree as an educator. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work during his college years. After graduation, he landed in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was an all-pro three times before beginning his business career. In 1988, as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being one of the top 10 youngsters of the United States. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. While he was in for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as Associate Director of Sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation.
