April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. Ross is among only a handful of female beach volleyball players to have done so. Ross will compete in Tokyo in her third Olympics medal with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. As she is 39, it could be her last opportunity to accomplish this. But she is confident that winning the gold medal is within reach. If we do our best or even if we play properly, I'm sure we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Also, I'll take some luck. Ross Born in 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her sisters and parents, was the first to begin taking part in athletics at Newport Harbor High School. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and tracks in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements during her prep time. When she played in the final sport she clearly stood out. When she played in her high school volleyball career According to her university bio, she was middle blocker, an outside settingter, and hitter. For her efforts she was honoured as the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their partnership in 2017, however Ross was a renowned athlete on the beach for a long time before. She has won major tournaments twice with different partners. In one of the tournaments, she has become an icon in the world of volleyball. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the world stage, claiming an overall world title in 2009. The pair eventually captured one silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor's iconic team together with Kerri Jennings took home the gold. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The team won bronze at the beach volleyball competition in the Rio Olympics the year 2016. Ross was a college player with the Trojans of USC prior to making the jump to professional. She starred in high school and in some years prior to playing on the beach as a professional. The USC experience was awe-inspiring. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman Of The Year. In addition, she was an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans reach the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a heartbreaking personal defeat in her sophomore year and yet she came back her place as an All-American. Over her final two years as a player, she steered the Trojans up to the top of the mountain netting successive national titles. In her own way, she had established herself as an all-time legend receiving an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross was an International Relations major at USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter achieve the heights in the world of beach volleyball. Ross lost the breast cancer that she battled in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She holds her mom close to her heart. Margie remains an inspiration at the beach, and throughout her life.
